Mitzy is in HOSPICE CARE but her foster mom sent along an update: Mitzy is a female fawn pug. Her paperwork states she is now 11 but appears to be a bit older. She was surrendered to the rescue because her family is no longer with us. She was a puppy mill survivor before she joined her home. Mitzy is up to date on her shots and is house broken. She is very hard of hearing. She had an injury to her right eye and is blind in that eye. She has limited sight in her left eye. Most likely she only is seeing shadows and will walk into items or people at times, especially if she is trying to hurry somewhere. She has arthritis so she walks a little stiff at times. She is able to walk up the two steps into our house but due to her limited vision she has no depth perception and cannot go down stairs at all and must be carried down all stairs and up any more than a couple stairs at a time.
Mitzy is a funny dog. She loves to “talk”. – especially when people arrive home. She meets you and scolds you for 2-3 minutes. She loves to be petted – head, chin, patted on the shoulder. She just loves attention. She attaches to one person and needs to know where that person is at all times. She suffers a bit from separation anxiety if that special person is out of her sight. She loves to be carried and snuggled with. She sleeps very hard (sometimes it’s hard to wake her up). She takes her time when outside and has to have time to find the right spot without any disturbances or she has to start the process over. She does have a little incontinence but she tries very hard. She gets along well with other dogs and cats. She gets along with older children as well but has not been around very small children. She has so much love to give it is unbelievable.
If you are interested in giving Mitzy a wonderful home for the rest of her years, please fill out an application to meet her.
